Located in the centre of Bielefeld, in the historic core of a traditional enterprise, a multi-storey car park was constructed with structural components integrated into the existing architecture and various utilization areas complementing each other. Furthermore, a workshop, offices as well as the central reception area for visitors of the enterprise are housed there. The construction of the car park was planned and devised by the efficient use of cubature. This was achieved by using joistless flat slab ceilings with highly solid concrete.
With its simple integration into the existing architecture the building captivates with a view to the park like set
The office area was allocated to the public side of the building. Therefore, the real use of the car park can only be seen through the existing car access. The rear of the building is marked by clear proportions in its structure and the use of durable materials in designing the facade. The usual clinkers in combination with modern stainless steel reinforcements play with the association of tradition and modernity and contribute to a harmonic overall picture. The public areas of the reception as well as those outside the car park owe their appearance to a reluctant colour and material concept.
