Building Phase V 2006
From 1999 – 2002, in several building stages, a food production enterprise for breakfast cereals and cereal bars was created. The logistic challenges for a permanent, flexible supply readiness for a number of products necessitates a well thought-out concept. The tonnage does not, however, convey an idea of the enormous space requirements for this extremely light-weight product. After palletising following the production lines an automatic transportation over a conveyer belt of 150 meters to a central distribution hall takes place. From here, the pallets are distributed in block or shelf storage in the first logistics centre to a total of four halls, together approximately 17.000 m². After commissioning, the pallets are assembled in a separate hall for transportation by lorry and made ready for delivery at over 12 docking stations.
Over 40 meters of column-free storage halls
The particularity of these storage halls is the implementation of only a few obstructive and cost-intensive fire prevention walls and without a fire sprinkling system. A central crossway building and the relevant building interspaces enabled this sophisticated realisation of the fire prevention requirements.
After only one year following the completion of the first logistics centre, a new even bigger one was commenced which was opened in 2006. Thus, the storage space increased by a further 26.000 m² within only 8 months.
