PUNKTEINS obtained the order to completely refurbish a floor of approximately 3.000 m² for a research and development centre. The building itself is situated at a big junction in the area of Hamburg Airport. Behind the old façade worth protecting, floor plans had to be made according to the demands of modern development processes, in which things could be developed and produced efficiently and flexibly. Within the framework of a limited competition the design of PUNKTEINS was selected, due to its lively structure and efficient area allocation.

The room layout impresses with its clear area allocation

Particular attention should be drawn to the allocation of laboratory areas according to the principle of short ways. Furthermore, special zones, such as exhibition areas and various meeting points were harmonically integrated. The office space is designed as single and group offices on different levels.
Consequently, comfortable and acoustically muffled workplaces have been created, which form a motivating work environment by means of rather unusual floor plans. Clear detail solutions and a design and material concept rich in contrast set the tone of the individual areas.
